About Adrian
Hi, I’m Adrian Pei—and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been deeply curious about change. Whether it’s personal growth, team dynamics, or large-scale organizational transformation, I’ve spent the past two decades exploring what helps people and systems truly evolve.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in leadership development with some of the world’s leading nonprofit and corporate organizations. I’ve helped guide companies through major transitions—reimagining performance management systems, redefining core values, and cultivating cultures that thrive in the face of change. Along the way, I’ve led teams, authored several books on change and leadership, and earned degrees from both Stanford University and Fuller Seminary.
All of this led me to start The Change Navigation Company—a training, coaching, and consulting firm built to help individuals, organizations, and universities confidently navigate the complexities of change. Through this work, I’ve developed a distinctive model for understanding and managing change, grounded in research, real-world experience, and a passion for making transformation approachable and sustainable.
Whether you’re a leader trying to move your team forward or an individual navigating a transition, I’m here to help you chart a thoughtful, purposeful course.

A personal note from Adrian
There are a lot of consultants, coaches, and trainers out there. Here’s what to expect working with me:
- I care about doing things ethically, not just pragmatically. My Asian name means “honest scholar,” and I try to live up to it every day.
- I don’t use coercion or manipulation, but aim to always do things in a way that honors people.
- I don’t take over or make everything about me, but let you lead. I want to support and make you successful.
- I understand people (what drives and motivates them), and why things are happening better than most. Discernment & strategy are my craft, and I’ve spent a lifetime refining it.
- But deep inside, the most important thing to me is that I genuinely care about people, and I want what’s best for them. I hope you’ll experience that when working with me.
FAQs
If you have any questions that I didn’t address, feel free to ask! Whatever your needs, I’m here to listen and support. Let’s find a time to talk…I look forward to it!
“What are some examples of the kinds of work you do?”
Great question! Here are some recent examples:
- I launched small group cohorts: one on understanding & influencing change; and another on teams, organizations, communication, and leadership!
- I delivered training workshops on “The 4 Keys to Influencing Change” and “Understanding & Navigating Anxiety in People & Systems” for a leadership team, and a mid-sized organization.
- I helped design and facilitate an offsite meeting for a small business leadership team, where we discussed and refined company roles, norms, and strategic focus. We also improved efficiency of leadership team meetings.
- I coached an individual one-on-one on getting better at organizational communication, and another person on how to navigate some interpersonal tensions and dynamics in their life.
- I designed a custom training program on organizational communication and leadership for a large church.
Those are just a few examples of what I do, and love to do!
“Are your services online, or in person? What is a typical session like?”
I’m very open to meeting in person, and I do travel especially for consulting and retreats, but for convenience I do most coaching and training on video. A typical session for coaching is 50 minutes, whereas a typical cohort meeting or workshop is 90 minutes. Sessions include time for learning, processing, and practical application.
All my services begin with a (free) phone call, where we’ll talk through your needs and situation, and design a customized solution that works for you.
“I would like some help, but am not exactly sure what I need. Where do I start?”
I totally understand, and that’s completely normal! Part of my job is to help you uncover and gain clarity on what you really need. It’s fairly common that a person will come into a call thinking they or their company need one thing, and then realize they need something else. Some need personal training or coaching, while others need organizational consulting. You don’t need to be 100% certain up front—we can talk and see what comes out of that, no pressure or worries!
“Why should I work with you, as opposed to someone else?”
I respect whatever you choose to do, and genuinely want the best fit for you. What I do think I offer is a wealth of organizational and leadership experience, and training content I created myself—completely personalized and customized in a plan that addresses your unique situation and needs. Some people are overwhelmed by complexity—but I enjoy helping people see and understand all the layers and dynamics that are going on, and then organize them in a clear and strategic way that leads to greater health and effectiveness.
Here are some people and companies whom I’ve worked with in the past, and what they’ve said about working with me!
“How much do services cost?”
Since everything I offer is so customized, the cost depends on the frequency of meetings, length of the workshop or project, and so on. I’m happy to tell you a specific price once I’ve heard what your specific needs are… feel free to send me a message to describe further.
“What’s the difference between training and consulting?”
For training, a company or team might ask me to conduct and facilitate a series of 90-minute workshops on a topic like “The Building Blocks of Effective Teams,” “The 4 Keys to Influencing Change,” or “Feedback and Hard Conversations.” Most of what I’ll do will be teaching and facilitating discussions with that company or team during those workshops.
In contrast, consulting is typically a longer-term engagement, and can last anywhere from a few months to a few years. I don’t just come in and teach workshops, but I might also be a coach to the CEO, pastor or team leader—connecting them to leadership resources they need, and helping them process complex decisions and situations. I might be a strategist who’s asked to assess the organization or church and create a report or plan with input and recommendations.
