About Adrian

Hi, I’m Adrian Pei—and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been deeply curious about change. Whether it’s personal growth, team dynamics, or large-scale organizational transformation, I’ve spent the past two decades exploring what helps people and systems truly evolve.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in leadership development with some of the world’s leading nonprofit and corporate organizations. I’ve helped guide companies through major transitions—reimagining performance management systems, redefining core values, and cultivating cultures that thrive in the face of change. Along the way, I’ve led teams, authored several books on change and leadership, and earned degrees from both Stanford University and Fuller Seminary.

All of this led me to start The Change Navigation Company—a training, coaching, and consulting firm built to help individuals, organizations, and universities confidently navigate the complexities of change. Through this work, I’ve developed a distinctive model for understanding and managing change, grounded in research, real-world experience, and a passion for making transformation approachable and sustainable.

Whether you’re a leader trying to move your team forward or an individual navigating a transition, I’m here to help you chart a thoughtful, purposeful course.

FAQs

If you have any questions that I didn’t address, feel free to ask! Whatever your needs, I’m here to listen and support. Let’s find a time to talk…I look forward to it!

“What are some examples of the kinds of work you do?”

Great question! Here are some recent examples:

  • I coached an individual one-on-one on getting better at organizational communication, and another person on how to navigate some interpersonal tensions and dynamics in their life.
  • I delivered training workshops on “Why Change is Hard & How to Navigate It Well” and Feedback and Hard Conversations for a leadership team, and a mid-sized organization.
  • I helped design and facilitate a team building meeting for a small business, where we defined team goals and norms, and people connected in meaningful ways about their personal and professional backgrounds and values.
  • I launched a small group cohort on understanding & influencing change, teams, organizations, leadership, and communication!
  • I designed a custom training program on organizational communication and leadership for a large church.

Those are just a few examples of what I do, and love to do!

I’m very open to meeting in person, and I do travel especially for consulting and retreats, but for convenience I do most coaching and training on video. A typical session for coaching is 50 minutes, during which we’ll talk and work through whatever is most important to you.

Training workshops and consulting begin with a (free) phone call, where we’ll talk through your needs and situation, and design a customized solution that works for you.

I totally understand, and that’s completely normal! Part of my job is to help you uncover and gain clarity on what you really need. It’s fairly common that a person will come into a call thinking they or their company need one thing, and then realize they need something else. Some need personal coaching, while others need organizational consulting. You don’t need to be 100% certain up front—we can talk and see what comes out of that, no pressure or worries!

I respect whatever you choose to do, and genuinely want the best fit for you. What I do think I offer is a wealth of organizational and leadership experience, and training content I created myself—completely personalized and customized in a plan that addresses your unique situation and needs. Some people are overwhelmed by complexity—but I enjoy helping people see and understand all the layers and dynamics that are going on, and then organize them in a clear and strategic way that leads to greater health and effectiveness.

Here are some people and companies whom I’ve worked with in the past, and what they’ve said about working with me!

Since everything I offer is so customized, the cost depends on the frequency of meetings, length of the workshop or project, and so on. I’m happy to tell you a specific price once I’ve heard what your specific needs are… feel free to send me a message to describe further.

For training, a company or team might ask me to conduct and facilitate a series of 90-minute workshops on a topic like “Building an Effective Team” or Feedback and Hard Conversations.” Most of what I’ll do will be teaching and facilitating discussions with that company or team during those workshops.

In contrast, consulting is typically a longer-term engagement, and can last anywhere from a few months to a few years. I don’t just come in and teach workshops, but I might also be a coach to the CEO, pastor or team leader—connecting them to leadership resources they need, and helping them process complex decisions and situations. I might be a strategist who’s asked to analyze the organization or church and create a report or plan with input and recommendations.
